Welcome to the Roadkill Clubhouse!
Our first of many issues

Howdy! Welcome to Roadkill Running’s new Beehiiv! We are so excited to use this platform to share with all of our community what we are up to and show more of our brand. Let’s jump into some topics now, shall we?
Upcoming Events!! Collabs with New Balance!!
You guys know how much we vibe with NB, we actually specifically asked our model and close friend of the brand, Gage, to wear his crispy pair of Fresh Foam v13s and a fresh NB tee on set for our first collection.

With that being said, we are so excited to be putting on a few events with them in 2025:
Feb 15 - We will be doing a collaboration with F45 and New Balance to help support the F45 team that is currently training for the Love Run. We will have some fun giveaways and snacks/fuel! Come out to the Bala Cynwyd location (3900 City Avenue, Philadelphia, PA 19131) on Feb 15th! Be sure to follow @f45_training_balacynwyd for all info for this event!
Feb 26 - We will also be collaborating with our first run club of 2025, Old City Run Club! New Balance will be with us as well, come out and get the chance to test out some new product from New Balance Running. We will be testing out our new Fuel Tent that will be at all of our cheer zones for 2025! All info will be posted on our page in a few weeks.

New Team Members!!
With all of our success in 2024 and going into 2025, we have been in over our heads and really needed some more hands on deck. Thankfully, we have just brought on 2 new hard-working and hungry team members that have been close to Roadkill since the beginning! Meet our 2 new team members, Samantha Leib and Julia Sughrue:

Samantha Leib - Head of Community Engagement and Media
Samantha Leib has joined the Roadkill Team in late 2024 as our Head of Community Engagement and Media. Samantha grew up on a farm in Sunbury, PA and attended Susquehanna University to play and, in turn, coach Women's Rugby before moving to Philadelphia to experience city life. Over the past year she fell back in love with running and completed her first Philly Marathon this past November! Proof of the college athlete to endurance sports pipeline, it's no surprise she's turned to distance running! She has a background in law, mixed media, research and nonprofit, which has made her an integral part of the 2025 team. Sam’s next "firsts" will be an Ultramarathon and Sprint Triathlon in 2025! Outside of training, Samantha runs a book club, plays Dungeons and Dragons, crochets, snowboards, plays in various sports leagues and is attempting to learn to cook. Samantha is a party pace runner who enjoys mornings at the track (especially when it's warm) to add some pep to her step and is very passionate about the running community being for all! If you see her at a local run club or walking while reading through the streets of Philadelphia, she'd love to stop and chat with you about all things Roadkill!

Julia Sughrue - Head of Social and Community Impact
Meet our new Head of Social and Community Impact, Julia Sughrue! Julia grew up in Connecticut, but after graduating from Boston College, she traded the pizza capital of the U.S. (CT obviously) for cheesesteaks and moved to Philadelphia. Julia immediately fell in love with exploring the city and while she loves public transit (probably a little too much), she believes the best way to get to know a city is on foot. Once she exhausted her walking radius of exploration, Julia got into running. She ran the Broad Street Run in 2022 and, despite swearing to never run that far again, has since run the Philadelphia Half Marathon and most recently, the 2024 Philadelphia Marathon. In addition to running, Julia’s current obsessions include trying to do pull-ups, reading, drinking her daily flavored seltzer (currently on the Waterloo blackberry lemonade wave - iykyk), skiing, trying new recipes, and compiling a long list of restaurant and movie recommendations that she swears she will get through one day! Julia has a background working in nonprofits and healthcare. As part of the Roadkill Running team, Julia plans to connect the brand with our local community and amplify/expand on the many amazing initiatives working to bring accessibility and inclusivity to running in this city and beyond! If you run (literally or figuratively) into Julia while she is out and about, she would love to meet you and talk about any and all things Roadkill, running and Philly!
Running News - Houston Marathon Weekend!

Connor Mantz and Addisu Gobenaand battling at the finish line - PC watchathletics.com
What a crazy weekend to be in Texas! Outstanding performances from Connor Mantz and Weini Kelati setting new American records for 13.1 (59:17 and 1:06:09). Even with the weather not being ideal this was a FAST race, with the top 4 times being only 3 seconds apart.
The full marathon was also a very intense race, with Philly’s own Amber Zimmerman finishing 5th in the women’s category with a 2:29:01. For those who don’t know of Amber, she won the women’s category for Broad Street this past May and the Philly Marathon in ‘22!
Congrats to all runners who raced last weekend, such a great way to kick off the 2025 running year!
Upcoming Races we are prepping for
Our founder, Elan, has just started his training block for the Eugene Marathon on April 27th. This race holds a special place in his heart growing up obsessed with all things Nike-related. He is testing out a slightly different training block than what he has done in the past, and really increasing his weekly mileage and strength training. His goal is a sub 3:20, but he cares most about getting to the start line healthy and in 1 piece!

Our Fav Pizza Spots in Philly

Paulie if you’re reading this… we love you and put a Roadkill pizza on the menu please….
To simply put it, our team keeps running because of how much we love pizza. All of our weekly team meetings start with Pizza because we believe it brings everyone together and always makes for a great time. Here is a list of some of our fav spots in the city:
Paulie Gee’s - Even though they are based in NYC, we are giving them the pass and have to give credit to their incredible slices. Located on 13th and Lombard, Paulie Gee’s brings an old school vibe with new school tastes. Out of this world, be sure to get a Hellboy Slice with Extra Hot Honey when you pull up.
Shackamaxon - If you know, you know. On a small side street in fishtown, there lives one of the best slices you can get in the city. A great neighborhood spot and perfect for the warmer days ahead. Small menu but packs a punch, always ask what the special slice of the day is.
Pizzeria Stella - Now you may ask, why are we putting a bougie Steven Starr restaurant on this list? It is for one reason only, the “Tartufo Pizza” will give you the best acid trip since woodstock… Fontina Cheese, fresh truffles, and a fried egg on top… yeah, you’re welcome… Located in Society Hill this place takes the crown for the best Philly Neapolitan Pizza.
Angelo’s - Y’all already know the dealio, have to give them their flowers on this one. If someone in your life is willing to wait in the Angelo’s line for you, you better keep them around… The Grandma Pie is our fav, BUT we love everything they put out.
For some further reading if you are hungry:
If you think you got a better spot, send us an email and we will try it out for our next team meetings 😉 [email protected]
To Conclude… New Product Coming Soon…
Now we know a lot of you are asking, “WHEN IS NEW PRODUCT COMING?!”. We are going to share some details of what we have in the works.
For the past 3 months we have been sampling and interviewing new manufacturers for us to produce our new performance line. This is something we as a brand are so excited to bring to life, and it is a vision we have had for a long time. The biggest thing we are working on is designing our own performance fabric, which means deciding on things like textile breakdown, sustainability, and other design elements.
For us, Sustainability and Carbon Footprint are so important to us. In a world that is full of mass consumption and waste, we want to be pushing the envelope with fabric composition and precision to make sure we are putting out products that are long lasting and timeless.
We are very excited to be working with our design team on some really exciting products for the spring and summer. We believe that this will take Roadkill to a whole new level of development and growth. Here is a look at one of the 15 (!!) new products we are working on:
